Welcome to the world of voice acting! In this workshop, we’ll discuss presenting, working in drama, commercial voice work and working in the video game industry. Our special guest will be actress and the voice of numerous video games and commercials Tiffany Clare. Graduating with a degree in acting, Tiffany has appeared in music videos, films and stage plays as well as working as an actress and presenter in a number of Alternative Stories productions.
During the session we’ll cover the following topics:
• Introduction to the world of voice acting and voiceover – where can this career take you?
• The many types of voice work: a brief introduction
• What is a good voice for voiceover work?
• Getting started
• Tips and techniques – from warm up to performance. This section gives an introduction to the art and science of voice acting and will be lead by Tiffany
• Voice acting – how does it differ from acting in visual mediums?
• Kit and software : what will you need to get started (it’s cheaper than you think!) and when will you need to upgrade?
• Getting your voice reel together
• Voice agents – do you really need one?
• Casting and finding opportunities
• Question and Answer session
Learning online
To take part, you will need a computer or smart device and reliable internet connection. You will receive a Zoom link for the masterclass by email the day before the event. If you haven’t received the link by the morning of event, please check your spam/trash folders, or send an email to ennis@londonlitlab.co.uk.
You’ll have the option to join an online workspace where the tutor, Chris Gregory, will share extra resources, and where you can interact further with Chris and fellow participants beyond the Zoom class.
The workshop will be recorded and made available to ticket holders for two weeks after the live session.
